“Google announced that they are about to stop their 6 online services which all failed to get attention from public .Things seems like that the recession period affected the Big G too . They are cutting web services, slashing recruiters , hitting on publishers Adsense revenues and I hope the list will expand in two three months . Anyways ,checkout those killed web applications .
1 .Google Video : Google video was running along with another Google video sharing service Youtube .With Youtube’s immense popularity , people lost interest in Google videos and the service would get shut down in 2-3 months .
2.Google Catalog Search: Google catalog search was used to search standard US mail-order product catalogs which have prices printed in them . Google catalog search is now re-directed to Google search itself .
3. Google Notebook : Google notebook was used to maintain random notes and clips online and share them with friends . New registrations to Google Notebook has been discontinued and the service will continue to be available for only for existing registrants .
4.Dodgeball : A mobile social networking that connect users through text messages .
5.Jaiku : A micro blogging service like twitter , acquired by the Google . Google team stopped further working on Jaiku engine and it will be releasesd to open source community for the development similar Micro bloggig services on Google app engine .
