Windows 7 SP1 Beta
Microsoft periodically releases security fixes and enhancements for its Windows operating systems Windows Vista and Windows 7 – through Windows update service. The service packs include all these updates plus a few general improvements and additions based on customer feedback. Microsoft recently released the developer download of Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. Both beta versions are now available for direct download at Microsoft Technet website. Developers can test this release, make their applications compatible with the update and send feedbacks based on their evaluation. The final version of Windows 7 SP1 will be available for the public by the end of June 2011.

Windows 7 SP1 doesn’t include any major OS level changes. However, the service pack will bring some notable additions to Windows Server 2008 edition. In general, it’s a cumulative update with all security releases, hot-fixes and improvements based on feedback received from testers. Service Pack 1 will help users to install all latest Windows 7 updates from a single DVD. We can expect Windows 7 with integrated SP1, after the final release of the Service Pack in June 2011.

There are two options for download, through Windows update and direct download. The later is an ISO file of around 1.2GB size.

i like windows 7..but its too heavy to support configuration..

Windows 7 seems to only work with one hard drive installed just great, even better than XP. However, I recently installed two more hard drives into my system, one 1tb hd and one 400gb hd. Now windows 7 is in “STUPID MODE” as it does not list them in my computer. My bios has no problem finding the new drives, yet win7.
Asus M4A78T-E QUAD CPU 4 gb of ram 32bit also running 3.5 floppy a zip drive 100mb and two sata dvd-cd lightscribe recorders.
